Guide

Use lore in Claude

lore gives Claude a long-term memory that is yours: notes, decisions and preferences saved in one conversation are there in the next one, and in your coding agents too. This page explains how to connect it, what Claude can do with it, and what data it handles.

Before you start

Connect lore

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector and enter https://app.lorememory.ai/mcp.
  3. Choose Connect. A lore page opens: sign in and approve the connection.
  4. Back in Claude, start a chat and enable lore from the tools menu if it is not already on.

The connection belongs to your Claude account, so it is available in every Claude app you are signed in to.

What Claude can do

The first three and the last three only read. Writing and deleting change your memory, and Claude asks before using them unless you have allowed it.

Where notes are saved

A note with no project named goes to your personal memory, which every repository in your own workspace reads. If you name a repository, Claude saves there, provided you are allowed to write to it. Claude can read every repository you can read and nothing else: access is decided by lore for each request, not by Claude.

Your data

Disconnect

Remove the connector in Claude's Settings, Connectors. To make sure the connection can no longer be used, open your lore account, go to your keys, and revoke the one named "Claude (MCP sign-in)".
